Subarna Chakma is a member of the Lions Club of Chittagong Parijat Elite, Club Code- 104569 LCI, Dist 315- B4. She is the current Chairperson and Founder Parent Member of Society for the Welfare of Autistic Children (SWAC)- apioneer organization in autism care in Bangladesh, which is an initiative by her son Arijit Chakma Prithu. Recently, she has been awarded by Sheikh Hasina MP, Honourable Prime Minister, GOB, for her contribution in the field of Autism on April 2nd, 2022 on the 15th World Autism Awareness Day.
Previously she has worked in Agrani Bank as Senior Principal Officer, starting her career as in the year 1989.For raising fund for SWAC and implement its future initiatives, she went to self-retirement from banking sector. She actively organized fundraising events and awareness raising campaign on Autism across the country through the support of SWAC and corporate society.
Through her initiative SWAC set up a branch at Rangamati Hill District in 2011. SWAC had been awarded by the Honourable Prime Minister as a successful organization on 12thWorld Autism Awareness Day.
She has participated the “Capacity Building Program to Make the Right Real” in Seoul, Republic of Koreaas one of the DPO members, organized by Korean Disabled People’s Development Institute (KODDI). She is a member of Neuro Developmental Disability Protection Trust of Bangladesh. She is also the President of Special Olympics Rangamati Sub Chapter, an active member of Chattogram University Ex Student Association and many other social agencies.
She has completed B.S.S. (Honour’s) and M.S.S. on Sociology from University of Chittagong. She was born in Rangamati Hill District, and now sheis a mother of 3 kids living at Baily Road, Dhaka with family. She had travelled to many countries around the world.
