Zareen Mahmud Hosein is the Founding Partner of Snehasish Mahmud & Co., Chartered Accountants.
Ms. Hosein is the Founder and ED of HerStory Foundation. The organization focuses on gender equality and quality education in Bangladesh. She is the Editor of HerStories: Adventures of SuperGirls, Volumes 1 & 2, based on real life stories of 42 homegrown SuperGirls.
She serves on the Governing Body of Sajida Foundation and is a member of its Audit Committee. She is a Director at Shasha Denims Limited and serves on its Audit Committee. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Mohila Samity. Previously Ms. Hosein served on the Board of Aga Khan Foundation Bangladesh. She was also the President of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Bangladesh and Genaral Body Member of Ghashful.
Ms. Hosein started her career in New York City Mayor’s Budget Office and then worked in KPMG LLP in New York City before moving to Bangladesh. In Bangladesh she previously worked at ACNABIN Chartered Accountants and served as a Consultant for the World Bank.
She has a BA in Economics from Smith College and an MPA from New York University. She qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in the USA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh.
